Activity Centre

At MAGIC BEANS activities are curated especially to encourage Constructive Play for 1 year to 6 year olds.

Through constructive play, children engage their imagination and creativity while sparking their curiosity. Constructive play is a form of hands-on inquiry where children discover, explore and learn.

Every day there are different activities that work on honing different skills such as:

  • Fine Motor: Fine motor skills are the ability to make movements using the small muscles in our hands and wrists. We rely on these skills to do key tasks in everyday life such as buttoning, writing, fastening etc.
  • Gross Motor: Gross motor (physical) skills are those which require whole body movement and which involve the large (core stabilising) muscles of the body to perform everyday functions, such as standing and walking, running and jumping
  • Cognition and General Knowledge: Cognition and General Knowledge is about children learning to understand the world and focuses on intellectual development. Topics vary from Continents and Planets to Community Helpers and Season, Lifecycles to the young of Animals.
  • Problem Solving: Problem solving is essential in Early Childhood Education as it sets the foundation of raising thinkers as opposed to just doers. 90% of all our activities involve Problem Solving.
  • Creativity: It is vital to foster creativity right from a young age. Not only does it encourage a child to explore the world of colours, textures, design, material, art and craft but it also improves motors skills, facilitates decision making and critical thinking and most of all builds confidence and helps children express their feelings.
  • Sensory: Sensory play encourages learning through exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity. It helps to build nerve connections in the brain and encourages the development of language and motor skills. Most importantly it exposes children to different textures.
  • Imagination: Imagination building is the foundation of raising future creators, chefs, scientists and the list is endless! Pretend play helps your child understand life skills. When a child engages in pretend, he is actively experimenting with the social and emotional roles of life and learns how to take turns, share responsibility, and creatively problem-solve.

All activities are curated to give the children a chance to hone these areas of learning while keeping them interested and engaged.

Everyday parents receive a Daily Report Sheet that has a synopsis of what the child worked on that day so that they can discuss and reinforce what was learnt. At MAGIC BEANS you will find a safe & warm place for your child to grow in mind & spirit.
